“Drawing And Painting the Nude: A Course of 50 Lessons,” By Philip Tyler

“THIS POST MAY CONTAIN AFFILIATE LINKS. PLEASE READ MY DISCLOSURE BELOW FOR MORE INFO.”

Having come across Philip Tyler’s “Drawing and Painting the Landscape” recently, I had to also grab his other book, “Drawing and Painting the Nude: A Course of 50 Lessons”.

Philip Tyler was one of the contestants from Sky Portrait Artist of the year 2017. He is a practising artist who teaches at the University of Brighton. His work is represented by several commercial galleries and in recent years, he has focussed on painting his local landscape of West Sussex.

Just like his book on painting and drawing the landscape, this book is enjoyable, beautifully illustrated and contains a wealth of information on composition, colour theory, techniques and approaches to paint the figure.

This is a worthwhile book for anyone who loves to paint! I return to the book over and over and each time I learn something new.

For a more thorough look into Philip Tyler’s book, here’s a video that I made for you to view.
